Privacy policy
How we collect, use and protect your personal information.
Last updated 23 July 2026
Amber Signs Berkhamsted Ltd, trading as Amber Signs & Print (“we”, “us”, “our”), is committed to protecting the privacy of everyone who visits this website or gets in touch with us. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, and what rights you have over it, in line with UK data protection law (UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018).
Who we are
Amber Signs Berkhamsted Ltd, company number 09288896, of 59 Gossoms End, Berkhamsted, Hertfordshire, HP4 1DF, is the data controller for the information described in this policy.
Information we collect
We collect information in two ways:
- Information you give us directly — your name, business name, email address, phone number and any details about your enquiry, when you submit our quote form or otherwise contact us by phone or email.
- Information collected automatically — basic technical information such as browser type, device type and general usage data, gathered to keep the site running securely and to see which pages people find useful. Our visitor measurement is done with Fathom Analytics, which sets no cookies and collects only anonymous, aggregated figures — nothing that identifies you. See our cookies policy for more on this.
How we use your information
We use your information to:
- respond to your enquiry and provide a quote;
- deliver the signage or print services you’ve asked us to carry out;
- keep records of our business relationship, including for accounting and legal purposes;
- improve this website and how we communicate with customers.
We do not sell, rent or share your personal information with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
How long we keep it
If you become a customer, we keep your information for as long as needed to service the relationship and to meet our legal and accounting obligations. If you make an enquiry that doesn’t go further, we keep those details for around six months, then delete them.
How we store it
Your information is stored securely, with access restricted to the people at Amber Signs & Print who need it to do their job. Enquiries submitted through our website form are processed by our hosting provider, Netlify, and email correspondence is handled through our business email provider. No transmission of information over the internet can be guaranteed completely secure; where we ask for information online, it is sent at your own risk, though we do our best to protect it.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law, you have the right to:
- ask what personal information we hold about you, and get a copy of it;
- ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete;
- ask us to delete your information (the “right to be forgotten”), where there’s no good reason for us to keep it;
- ask us to restrict how we use your information;
- object to how we use your information; and
- ask for your information in a portable format, where relevant.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below. If you’re not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
Links to other sites
Our website links to third-party sites, including Facebook, Instagram and Google Maps. We’re not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites, so we’d encourage you to read their own policies before sharing information with them.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time, for example if our services or the law change. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated date at the top.
